Complaint Against Lingerie Shop Goes To Court

A complaint that stemmed from a complaint from a former employee of a lingerie shop has now headed to court. A complaint from a former lingerie shop employee has already been filed before the court. The still unnamed complainant reportedly got upset at being forced to wear a name tag displaying her bra size. The complainant said that she did not feel comfortable at all displaying her bra size during work at the Gothenburg branch of Scandinavian-owned lingerie company “Change.”

Charges have already been filed by a Swedish union in behalf of the female complainant. The charges are related to discrimination.

The Swedish union Commercial Employees’ Union (Handelsanställdas förbund - Handels) announced on Tuesday that they filed the complaint against the company and has also asked the court for Change to pay 300,000 kronor ($43,410) in compensation to the former employee.

“We don’t feel that it’s any help to see the size of someone’s breasts. We don’t see the connection at all,” the union’s press secretary Kristina Jogestrand said, adding that “You can be a confident, secure woman without having to show the size of your breasts for all to see.”

The union said that requiring employees to display their bra size is proof enough of discrimination.

“Our union member has experienced something offensive and discomforting in the wearing of such badges. For her, bust size is deeply personal,” union spokesperson Jannika Fahlander said in a statement.

When sought for a statement, the company Change claims that the staff members wear the tags voluntarily.

Female Customers Feels Relieved With Recent Law Changes

A deadline of 6 months has been given to some 4,332 lingerie stores across the Kingdom to substitute their male workers with saleswomen ended Thursday.

Amani Al-Ghamdi, Valege Lingerie’s store manager at its Red Sea Mall branch said that many customers feel relieved when they see saleswomen at intimate items shops. For the first time it is not the merchandise that lures them but the presence of women behind the counters.

Al-Ghamdi supports and encourages young women to adhere this field. She says it might not seem like much of a career, but for a high school graduate it is a good paying job in a comfortable environment where you are greatly appreciated by customers.

Amal, who replaced a male manager at a Naomi branch in Jeddah said it is exhausting to be working two shifts. But it is a great opportunity for her to be an active partner in the country’s economic progress.

Rania, who is Amal’s assistant, said that her family disapproved of her work for a while but finally gave in. She said that it is not easy to get people to accept what they do especially when in high seasons working hours are longer and they have to stay in the shop till 3 A.M.

As expected safety is a major concern. A lot of Jeddah malls such as Jareer Mall and Red Sea Mall have boosted security to put off the new workers from being harassed or robbed. Firm regulations have also been established to protect these women. Stores have been fitted with specifically tinted glass windows and curtains totally covering up the inside of the store. Security guards are posted outside these stores.

Contrasting other stores features of security, in lingerie stores isolation concerns far overshadow those of theft, and security cameras are nonexistent.

Victoria’s Secret workers stole lingerie

A personnel at Victoria’s Secret in the Palisades Center was taken away in handcuffs, yet still wondering whether he has a job. Law enforcement charged him and two co-workers of taking about $58,000 in lingerie.
Emanuel Jimenez, 24, of Garnerville said that he never said he was shot but never said come again either.
Jimenez said the recognized profile is very overblown and he only pocketed about $800 Victoria Secret Models uring his six several weeks of believed thievery, calculating the large markdown he gets on the underground.
Jimenez informed The Report Information on Wednesday evening that his heart broke when he saw that information on the Web. They overstated a lot, have confidence in him. They must have energized like top dollar for everything, and bending the revenue tax.
Yet, he said he did the crime. Like Jimenez, Shavon Pressley, 22, of New Town was energized with legal number of grand larceny.
Police are still searching for the detain of a third personnel.
Sgt. Bernard Cummings of the Clarkstown police said this holidays detain was the greatest, by far, of four revealed robberies from that keep since September.
Victoria’s Key has been a hot focus on for decades.
In May 2010, the Palisades Center keep was conned of $60,000 cash. In May of that period, more than $11,000 was taken from a secure at the Victoria’s Key keep in the Galleriea in Bright Flatlands. Last period, more than $20,000 was thieved from the Western side Nyack keep.
Like cash, underwear is simple to conceal and, thus, grab.
Cummings said that it’s very simple to conceal it, in contrast to jogging out of a keep with a 50-inch tv set. Pocket gum is also little, but what are you going to get for it? A individual bra from Victoria’s Secret can price $40.
Jimenez said, Victoria’s Secret provides itself.
Apparently, things provide for much less on the underground. Jimenez said he was only getting cash for some things.
