Female Customers Feels Relieved With Recent Law Changes

A deadline of 6 months has been given to some 4,332 lingerie stores across the Kingdom to substitute their male workers with saleswomen ended Thursday.

Amani Al-Ghamdi, Valege Lingerie’s store manager at its Red Sea Mall branch said that many customers feel relieved when they see saleswomen at intimate items shops. For the first time it is not the merchandise that lures them but the presence of women behind the counters.

Al-Ghamdi supports and encourages young women to adhere this field. She says it might not seem like much of a career, but for a high school graduate it is a good paying job in a comfortable environment where you are greatly appreciated by customers.

Amal, who replaced a male manager at a Naomi branch in Jeddah said it is exhausting to be working two shifts. But it is a great opportunity for her to be an active partner in the country’s economic progress.

Rania, who is Amal’s assistant, said that her family disapproved of her work for a while but finally gave in. She said that it is not easy to get people to accept what they do especially when in high seasons working hours are longer and they have to stay in the shop till 3 A.M.

As expected safety is a major concern. A lot of Jeddah malls such as Jareer Mall and Red Sea Mall have boosted security to put off the new workers from being harassed or robbed. Firm regulations have also been established to protect these women. Stores have been fitted with specifically tinted glass windows and curtains totally covering up the inside of the store. Security guards are posted outside these stores.

Contrasting other stores features of security, in lingerie stores isolation concerns far overshadow those of theft, and security cameras are nonexistent.

World’s Best Wingman

‘Girls will pretty much always talk to girls. And once I’ve got her chatting to me, I’ll introduce you. My charm will rub off on you, and you’re golden.’ He nods slowly.

‘What about that one?’ he asks, pointing to a very pretty blonde girl wearing a see-through top. ‘I don’t usually talk to girls who are wearing see-through clothes,’ I tell him.

‘It’s just a personal preference.’ But it’s more than that. I don’t understand how anyone can talk to someone when you can see their underwear.

I spend all my time staring at the poor girl’s bra, assessing it for comfort, wearability and shape. I once asked a lady I had only just met if she kept the lace on her bra intact by putting it into  a little ‘underwear only’ mesh bag before she put it into the washing machine.

Only I couldn’t remember the name for ‘underwear bag’, so blurted out: ‘Does your bra always go in a bag? A bag with holes in it?’ There’s very little one can do to recover from that.  I try to learn from my mistakes, however, and have surrounded myself in social situations with clothed humans ever since.

But I’d set myself up here, and I knew my friend was the type to gloat smugly when I failed in my wing-man duties. I bravely walk over to the girl.

‘Don’t mention her bra,’ I tell myself. ‘There are thousands of other conversational topics. Just not the bra. The bra is not your friend. You do not come across as a caring M&S bra fitting type; you come across as a slightly crazed bra fanatic.’

Unfortunately, it is extremely hard to think of anything else when you have just said ‘bra’ to yourself 1,400 times. I wonder how the nice M&S ladies cope. I would like to ask them, but obviously lingerie departments are pretty much off-limits now.

‘I’m not here to talk about your bra,’ I say firmly to this nice blonde girl. ‘And hi, my name’s Lucy.’

To give the girl her due, she shook my hand politely, and offered her name in return. But I knew I was on borrowed time. Girls are happy to talk to random girls but there are certain caveats. Mentioning their bra falls firmly under those restrictions. In fact I imagine most girls would prefer to talk to a boy who didn’t mention their bra than to a girl who did.

I think fast. ‘I LOVE this pub!’ I say enthusiastically. ‘Yes, it seems nice,’ she replies. ‘Is it your local?’ ‘Oh no,’ I tell her quickly. ‘I’ve never been here before in my life.’

The girl looks at me for a moment before laughing. ‘You’re so weird,’ she says politely. ‘I am!’ I reply cheerfully. ‘But look, this is my friend. He’s much less weird.’

I drag my friend over to join our conversation. ‘Well,’ I say once they introduce themselves. ‘Seeing as you’re both my friends, I’m sure you will get on wonderfully.’ I excuse myself and loiter unobtrusively just behind them.

They seem to be getting on famously, so I assume he had avoided the conversational traps I had fallen into. The initial bra thing and then the misplaced enthusiasm thing. Pretty common conversational hazards.

My friend steps into me, that’s how unobtrusively I was watching them, as he goes to the bar. ‘Did you offer to buy her a drink?’ I ask. ‘Of course,’ he replies. ‘She doesn’t want one.’

I know exactly what happened. I walk over to the girl. ‘It’s OK,’ I tell her helpfully. ‘He’s a good guy. He won’t put Rohypnol into your drink. I guarantee that.’ The girl looks at me, startled. ‘I hadn’t even thought of that,’ she replies.

‘It’s just my friend is getting me a drink already.’ ‘Oh,’ I laugh nervously. ‘Well, as you were.’ It is just possible I might have oversold myself as a wingman. ‘I did say “probably”, I explain to my rather cross friend a little bit later.

‘Probably the world’s best wingman.’

Bra Size Fixer

Many women give the impression of being oozing with sex appeal when wearing the padded bra and that is as a quick and easy way to boost it. This if for the traditional logic reason that men have a so-called preference towards women having a bigger bust sizes.

On the other hand, recent strong sales in Japan of a bra designed to make large breasts look smaller suggests that Japanese women may find a flat breast a more flattering breast, appropriately called bra that makes large breasts look small, is done by Japanese lingerie maker Wacoal. The company claims that more than 86,000 units were sold.

In accordance with a survey conducted by Wacoal last September 2011 calling for women aged 20-40 what they are searching for when acquiring a bra, 10% of those women answered they would like a bra that makes them look slimmer, with some women citing that a big bust makes them look fat.

Previously unaware that a market for such a bra existed, Wacoal quickly responded by developing the first iteration of the bra and offering it for purchase on their website in April 2010. After strong sales, Wacoal began stocking the bra at clothing stores around the country and by September 2011 more than 76,000 had been sold.

For assessment, Wacoal states that products from its main line sell around 20,000 – 30,000 per 6 months.

In September, Wacoal redesigned the bra by widening the area of the pads so it covers the entire chest to provide more support. The new bra is at this time available for acquisition on the internet only.

Bra That Makes Big Breasts Look Small is available in four different colours namely cream, green, ivory and navy blue. Sizes D – G are priced at 4935 yen, about US $64.05, and the G and H cup go for 5250 yen, about $68.15.

Designer Teams Up For A Cause

Kristina Wolf Design, East Bay interior designer, recently united with Free the Girls, a non-profit organization that supports rescued female victims of sex trafficking in Africa. It is a way to widen the meaning of community and big-heartedness this New Year.

Kristina Wolf said that the holidays are a perfect time for reflection and gratitude and they are conscious of the enormous good fortune they have had in 2011, so they would like to give back in 2012.

Free the Girls offer the chance for female victims of sex trafficking to put back their lives together and start anew. The organization does not merely present cash donations to these women and run off them to sink or swim on their own; fairly, it empowers these women by providing them the means and assistance they call for to create their own small businesses and consequently support them as an individual.

The central campaign of Free the Girls is their bra drive, which encourages women around the world to donate their used brassieres to contribute inventory for the victims’ second-hand clothing businesses. Bras have also been established by the program to be popular items in the used clothing industry, with a number of women taking home a well and good profit that is about five times the minimum wage in their area.

All donations go directly to the job-creation projects of Free the Girls. In connection to this, Kristina Wolf Design will sponsor a bra drive this 2012 to further raise consciousness in the East Bay area, and to congregate both monetary and brassiere donations for the campaign.

Bay Area women are encouraged by Kristina Wolf Design to lend a hand in making a difference for their sisters in Africa. To make a donation, volunteer or receive information about Free the Girls, visit http://freethegirls.com/.

Reports: New Zealand female now go for larger size bra

A recent report has showed that a significant number of New Zealand women are now apparently going for a larger bra size. According to the report, the number of New Zealand women who now demand for larger bra size has increased tremendously and part of the reason is obesity.

A Bendon Spokeswoman, Rachael Parkin, has shared that from the last 10 years, sales of D cups and larger size bra is on a high.

“We are also seeing young girls are coming into our stores with larger busts much more often now”, she said.

Anita Clelland, National Sales Manager, even affirmed reports that say that the average bra size among New Zealand females is now seeing a significant transition from a regular 12B in the year 2001 to between a 14C and a 14D. The latter represent larger bra sizes.

One of the reasons for the fast and higher demand for larger bra sizes is obesity. Reports say that because of the overflow of fats not only in the breast tissue but on the back of the body as well, New Zealand ladies now need bigger bra sizes.

However, Massey University Associate Professor in Human Nutrition Jane Coad has shared that it could have possible association with the theory that prevalence of estrogen in contaminated water has increased the size of breast in women, though nothing conclusive has been said in this regard so far.
